New Addition to the Family - Nikon BS-2
So what happened when you shoot under the rain with your hot shoe exposed? “No problem for the D300s”, claimed the NPS folks at Nikon. “But you may witness a premature oxidization of the hot shoe. That’s all. It will not short-circuit as some folks believe”. Well, I am not about to wait for that chance to happen. The Nikon BS-2 is built solely for that purpose....

Fun's Over...Malaysia Next
OK. Just when I thought I am done with Malaysia last year, I got a notification to go round my clients’ six offices to audit their business infrastructure and execute the newly deployed collaboration platform for her staff… Hmm…turning reactive companies to a proactive entity, an undertaking that’s fast becoming a top agenda for many of my clients in 2010. Bring it on!

Replacement Updates for Nikon Accessories
To date, I have lost quite a few accessories, broke some other and has not been replacing them until yesterday. Among items replaced are the Nikon SW-13H Dome Diffuser for SB-900 and CA10 cable for the Nikon GP-1. O yes, a new accessory Nikon BR-2A was also purchased for some macro experimentation with my Nikkor 50mm F/1.8D.

More Tips When Shooting
Now, if you are one of those who encountered a memory card “Full” incident when well knowing it’s not, you are not alone. As like a hard drive, the routine cycle of storing, deleting images right from your card literally fragments the file system of the card, causing camera and computers alike not to efficiently identify the total amount of usable space on that card. The...

Advice for Shooting D90 or D300s or DSLRs
Shoot in RAW and process them on your computer into JPEGs whenever possible and not bake your images into JPEG right in the camera. I found that the color rendering and conversion takes place more “holistically” with View NX or Adobe Lightroom than on the camera. Trust me… (But you will lose FPS when you shoot in RAW on this two cameras)

Let's Do D90!
Yeap! The D90 has, since the acquisition of the D300s, been taking a different role altogether, filling the niche to shoot family and stuff, while giving me an alternative as a light weight second backup body. But, still, as it has been proven, the D90 continues to squeeze out commendable shots no matter how little effort I put in to take each shot.

Intrigued with Reverse Mounting Technique
Been hearing and reading about this for a while now, and have actually seen some seriously good images with this technique coupled with the Nikon BR-2A kit. And since the day I got my second 50mm, has resulted in the Nikkor 50mm F/1.8D spending a large part of her life in the dry cabinet. Why not put it to better use and learn something fun?

New Addition to the Family - Nikkor 10-24mm...
OK. So, I admit I am a sucker for Nikkor lenses. And the new addition of this ultra wide lens somewhat completes my collection of lenses at my disposal, to shoot really wide. It simply eats landscape, interiors for breakfast. Though, blurry at extreme corners under the magnifying glass, has proven to shoot to my amateurish standard. As mentioned earlier, I have zero intention to employ constant...

Just In Case If You Are Wondering...
As with my little tradition since I begin shooting with Nikon, I still don’t believe in post processing (even though I now possess Adobe Lightroom 2.5 and Photoshop. Blame it on one of my friend) my photos except to convert them to JPEGs from my RAWs, while resizing them for easy uploading to Tumblr. And this last business trip into China was made with only two lenses - Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D...

While I eat and breathe Tumblr for the next two weeks in Singapore, I hope I can keep up with the routine of uploading my shots for those places I have visited. It’s now quite mind boggling to remember every of those 15 cities I worked in for the last six months. And the workload is not getting any lighter… Anyway, welcome back!
